CP 1-140.. "Stones do not fall from heaven," said Laplace, although they had been falling upon inhabited ground every day from the earliest times. But there is no kind of inference which can lend the slightest probability to any such absolute denial of an unusual phenomenon. END

We have here a window on Peirce’s open door to a universal logic. Logic that can, if I may say it, combine beauty and truth. He does not downplay the reality of heaven. To prove its unreality would require enough proofs of the contrary to defeat the patience of Job.

Heaven is a stretch to a mind caught in the grasp of physicalism – the viewpoint that there is nothing but the physical. In a quantum world, where the smallest components of reality are invisible to an amazing degree and where ultimately we are all made of the same stuff, we can entertain the thought that there is no nothing.

There is what we see and what we cannot see. There is what we know by measurement and touch and what we do not know by these devices. How much that we know are things we have not touched or measured?

Thoughts are invisible. Experiences are real to us but not to others in the same way or at all. Heaven is more real to anyone who has been there than the material realities of earth. More and more are sharing their experiences of light and heavenly existence.

Google NDE and see.

Triadic Philosophy rests on the understanding that Reality is all. All we perceive and all that we do not perceive. All we can see and all we can imagine.

Reality is a matter of degrees.

It is a spectrum from one extreme to the other.

If I am a Soul in Heaven I can think up a stone and toss it to earth. Will it land on Broadway with an audible sound? Who knows? Anyone familiar with telekinesis knows that mind and matter are at times interactive.

The implications of open, universal logic are not commonly articulated. But they exist. It is a good commencement of an examination of Heaven to put Laplace in his place.
