Peirce had every reason to have a negative view of man and an antipathy to God. He was a prickly person who could rub people the wrong way and did. And yet he stands preeminently as a herald of science-based optimism. And he was in fact a Deist who believed in God.
Some make light of Peirce as a theological thinker. That is because he correctly knew that theology is not the issue. The issue is sense, feeling, awareness.
Triadic Philosophy does not distinguish between thought and feeling. They are linked and unified in one whose feelings are not mired in negation.
